Resources & Quick Guides

Additional resources are being added regularly from across campus and beyond as we plan for both in-person and online components to instruction.

Faculty and Student Success Quick Tips

The Faculty and Student Success Quick Tip series is inspired by an ethic of care – for faculty and for students. The purpose of the Quick Tips is to share strategies that faculty can easily, and with minimal time, integrate into their teaching practices to support student learning and success. If these recommendations do not fit with your style of teaching, perhaps they will inspire a strategy that does.

Please share your thoughts about the Quick Tips so we focus our efforts on work that will be useful to you.

Student Support

In addition to referring students to CAPS directly, MSU offers resources for helping a student you have concerns about. This playlist has been developed to make finding those resources easy.

Audio Recording Tips

Below are some tips for recording the best audio quality:

  • If possible, use some kind of external mic. This document provides some recommendations.
  • Find as quiet a location as possible
  • In general, try to stay between 4 to 6 inches away from the mic
  • If your mic is on a stand, avoid touching the surface when the mic is on
  • Draw the curtain or put a blanket against the wall to help dampen the sound, and reduce how much noise is reflecting off of surfaces
